The late John Trout, Jr. wrote this book after turkey hunting over two decades. It includes tips for outwitting the various subspecies such as Eastern, Gould, Merriam, Osceola and Rio Grande birds. A large chapter (Chapter 2) is devoted to Biology and Behavior, which is loaded with life-cycle facts about turkeys. And the more you know about turkeys, the better the chance for success. The book also contains neat topics such as photographing the wild turkey, recovering a wounded turkey and some success stories from other turkey hunters. One topic very necessary for turkey hunting is woodsmanship. Of course, that can only be obtained through hunting experiences, but this book will take care of everything else!
